Jay Park gives a little SNL shout out to DYB

Jay Park is now a regular on Korea’s version of comedy show Saturday Night Live. A recently shared sketch that parodied a popular telecom commercial with Akdong Musician gave a little shout out to “Dong Young Bae” dancing machine.

The original CF (in k-drama style):

The SNL parody

(The part referring to Taeyang starts at 0:53)

Young Bae’s name was probably used because Akdong Musician’s original line in the commercial was “Doo-Bae-Ga Doi” meaning “To become doubled.” (Referring to double points, and using the word “Bae”)

In the parody, Jay Park recites and  sings a little of LOAM’s lyrics and then they sing “Young-Bae-Ga-Doi” meaning “To become Young Bae” – spoofing the tag line of the original commercial – and turned it into a dance academy CF.   (The singers are repeating : “become youngbae, dong young bae, youngbae, dancing machine youngbae. Dong Young Bae!”) He closes out the parody dancing some of LOAM’s choreography.

Thanks so much to YB-518%, HJ and Silly for the links and translations!
