I am one of those people who think that you absolutely have to go watch your favorite artist’s concert when the artist has recently released a new album, and a new set has subsequently been announced.
It’s kicking off at Hong Kong on Jan. 10 with other concert dates in Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Taiwan to be announced. Keep checking the tour facebook page for more information!
YG’s calling it a world tour (and I’m holding Taeyang to his promise of a US concert in the “near future”) so let’s keep our fingers crossed that he brings the tour to other parts of the globe.
Congratulations to our ever humble superstar Taeyang for winning Song of the Year and being a Top 10 winner at the 2015 Melon Music Awards for “Eyes Nose Lips”! (ENL was also nominated for Best R&B/Soul song; which was won by Fly to the Sky’s “You You You”.)
With his second album which took 4 years to make, BIGBANG’s main vocalist SOL is making his long awaited Japanese debut. We talked with him about his work and the emotions he put into his album.
By now you’ve most likely heard of G-Dragon, the Korean pop juggernaut whose exploits in music and style we covered extensively last year. But if you’re not a K-pop enthusiast, you are probably unaware of Taeyang—G-Dragon’s best friend since childhood, YG Entertainmentlabelmate, and fellow member in the mega-group Big Bang. Though he isn’t quite as flashy as GD, Taeyang is undoubtedly a star in his own right, with a well-earned reputation in K-pop circles as the genre’s best R&B singer and dancer. (He’s also a global face for Calvin Klein’s new CK One campaign.) Taeyang’s second solo album, RISE, has topped the iTunes album charts in 10 countries since its release in June,
YG Entertainment releases the official teaser spot for the Seoul concert just in time to kick off the first round of ticket sales on September 16. See details about the concert here. Good luck to everyone planning to go!
Taeyang performed 1AM (Japanese version) on Music Japan, marking his first official broadcast performance as a solo artist in Japan. Daesung was also with him to promote his new album, D’slove.
Not sure what they meant by a “special commemorative performance for the album” but it sure looked like a good time. Fresh off his Japanese concert tour, Taeyang partied with fans at YG’s club with a short performance that left fans wanting more. Set list included Body, 1AM, I Need A Girl, Ringa Linga, Eyes Nose Lips and Only Look At Me.
