Taeyang at the YG Family Concert – Day 1

No solos so far – looks like Taeyang was a team player for the YG Family Concert. Aside from his performances with Big Bang (who reportedly performed Lies, HaruHaru, Heaven, GaraGaraGo, Last Farewell and Hands Up according to some early concertgoer reports), his main performances were joint stages with GD,Top and Se7en on 1Tym’s HOT Ddeu Geo and with Gummy, Se7en and Dara on 1Tym’s One Love. It’s the return of rapper Taeyang!

Some goodies from the first concert day:

Taeyang with their own Twist

There are a lot of good Taeyang dance covers on youtube, but every now and then you come across one that is just so good it deserves a post all of its own. I loved this one number by the Lingnan University Dance Team in Hong Kong that takes the original songs and choreography and turns it into something their own. The choreo was inspired, it was well danced and so much fun for audiences (especially those familiar with the original.) Love that the girls are hitting it as hard as “Taeyang.”

Hmmm. Now I’m trying to imagine Taeyang dancing to Where U At with the Crazy girls backing him up….

Thanks to aleeks831 for the upload.

[Interview] Shaun Evaristo : “Try Dancing Like Me, Like This”

Shaun Evaristo, one of our favorite people here on ATY, was interviewed along with two other choreographers in the December issue of GQ Korea. (The very same issue where a certain someone was featured as one of the Men of the Year.)

Choreography receives as much attention as music. Just as a song has a title, choreography gets a name attached to it, too. Three choreographers reveal the secrets behind choreography.

[Interview] SOL:Big Bang’s Electric Love Tour Photobook

Interviewer: I watched you on appear on TV this morning.
SOL : (Shy smile.) I just woke up at that time so I was absentminded… like I was still dreaming.

No, No. You supported your member well who was having trouble with talking about other topics aside from music.
But originally I am so shy…I am the quietest in Big Bang.

You don’t seem like it at all. Aside from being shy, what kind of person do you think you are?
To tell you the truth, I don’t understand myself well too. (He answered in Japanese.)

Swings does After You Fall Asleep

Hip-hop artist Swings, who featured on Taeyang’s “After You Fall Asleep” from the Solar album, recently performed an acoustic version of the song at a November 13 engagement.

What do you guys think? Looks like he had a lot of fun with it.  (Wouldn’t have minded having TY there though. There’s never enough Taeyang nowadays…)

Thanks to 21bangs.com for the heads up. (Uploaded by luanqibazao8)

[Discussion] HAPPY ANNIVERSARY WEDDING DRESS!

One of the first artists to ever do Taeyang remakes, our friends over at Kanauru, came out with their much awaited masterpiece in time for the anniversary. Thanks Richard and Qui!

Time flies doesn’t it? It has been exactly one year since Taeyang’s sad song of missed chances first made fangirls cry (and dare I say it, maybe even a fanboy or two?) While the initial reception in Korea was not as warm as hoped, the little song that could has been making its way around the globe winning Taeyang new admirers in some far off places. The song, dance and video have inspired the more dedicated fans from all over to do their own renditions – some heartfelt, some funny, some just plain awesome.
