What a fresh interpretation of the song! From the first listen, it felt like a different story altogether though keeping the sadness of the original. I love how they changed up the lyrics – and English – woohoo! Tablo-Tukutz-Taeyang ftw!
Tablo said “I worked as though I was writing an original song. I wrote new lyrics and made a new hook, DJ Tukutz created a track that was darker and different from the original, and Taeyang sang the original bridge and climax, but with a new feel. I wanted to give the fans a gift that would feel like a welcoming surprise. YG is also launching another cover contest for Eyes Nose and Lips beginning June 27 and I’d really love to see how people reinterpret the song in their own way. This cover is a great example of how it can be done – looking forward to the fans’ take on it.

It’s perfect omg. When Taeyang came singing with so much emotion in the bridge and his flawless English, I had tears ;; I need an English version of just Taeyang singing and another Taeyang and Tablo collab like Tomorrow.
I really like this version especially when Taeyang comes out at the end. I was not expecting that, but it sounds like you can hear during the chorus when Tablo says fade to black.
I would love for this to be on the repackaged album with Taeyang singing the full chorus.
Actually Taeyang does the back vocals for the chorus during Tablo’s part (the “fade to black” and “still got me dyin/cryin” parts) . A remix on the repackage would be great! (as long as we get more new songs than remixes hehehe.)

First of all it’s in English OMG!!! Second I was pleasantly surprised when YB came in on the bridge. I think I was so distracted about it being in English that I didn’t even notice the backing vocals haha. And I totally agree that this is so not a cover, but a whole new song. I’m not usually a dark person, but I like the dark lyrics.
Oh and a word of advice: don’t watch these videos before going to work. I did that and I almost couldn’t function because all I wanted to do was come home and watch this video over and over again 🙂

This cover/rendition is really good I couldn’t stop listening to the song once it came out. It had a really good build up towards the climax because when I heard YB’s voice it was just perfect and I didn’t expect him to be in it at all. Tablo’s voice and YB’s compliment each other’s very well. I love the dark lyrics it brings a different feel to the song and i thoroughly enjoy Tablo’s masterpiece 😀 and Thank you tukutz for the beats!
