Fresh off the press, the official list of nominee’s for the 2010 Mnet Asian Music Awards has been released with Taeyang bagging 3 Nominations. He has been nominated for:
Male Singer Award: PSY, Se7en, Rain, Taeyang, Wheesung
Best Music Video Picture
2NE1 – “Can’t Nobody”
Epik High – “Run”
UV – “Sorry I Can’t Be Cool”
Ga-In – “Can’t Turn Back”

He’s up against some strong contenders and some new names so it’ll be interesting to see how this pans out. I don’t want to get my hopes up, since the last time I was very disappointed he didn’t get any of the major awards for LOAM. Though awards don’t make or break an artist, I do like to see him get recognition in the form of an award once in a while =)

if only MAMA is like GRAMMYS where a panel reviews the nominees rather than selecting a winner through sales and popularity.
i would like him to win the BEST MALE SINGER award although he’s up against strong competitors.
this is going to be a toughy! sending out much love and support! it doesn’t matter if he wins but it would be nice.

I would love YB to win, the boy deserves a good award like this once in a while, even if he does say these trophies and things don’t matter… It’ll at least be a memoir of all the hard work and recognition that is WAY overdue for this young man. :))

Out of the three I would love him to win best dance or best singer…. I really can’t choose which he deserves more, because to me he is great in both. (LOL, very biased) Though I think he’ll have a better chance at dance? that’s just my opinion, I dunno… I think he’s up against some really good singers in the best singer category…
Not that I think his singing is bad, no way… He’s really improved from his solo debut, and I’m really really proud of it. In my eyes he’ll always be the best singer because of his ability to express such ‘raw’ emotions when he sings even when live, that’s hard to find… But maybe the judges will be looking for something different? Anyway… moving on…
I think he has a better chance in dancing just because the choreography for it is DOPE…. and something that the Korean music industry hasn’t tried out yet… plus he always makes sure each move is spot on and detailed…
I love the MV for IBT, but I think the credit for this award is not exactly to the artist, but to the director and producer etc. of the MV.. thus to me it doesn’t really matter to me who wins that award…
BUT I’d be happy if YB won any of the three, even if he didn’t, hey, being nominated already means something. 🙂
I think he might have a chance for best male singer award… but I’m not sure about the rest. I’d like him to win all three of course if possible but if not i don’t think it matters either since the other two of the categories he is nominated in are not much of a big deal. Hm.. but i’d like him to win best dance category as well. i’ve always thought IBT performances worth the dance awards out there but Hyori’s Choreo is a fave one in Korea… tough tough tough…
Ahhh….he’s up against some solid competition for each category! I really hope he wins at least one. I know he doesn’t care about winning but it would still be nice for him to get some recognition in Korea every once in a while.
On the other hand, does this mean that he’ll possibly be performing? I’d actually rather see that than a win TBH. Suffering from YB withdrawal here!!!
I’m pretty sure he will be performing…since Big Bang are coming back and everything…so he’ll be there anyway. They tend to perform at MAMA i hope its some amazing stage. The orchestra Lies when Big Bang clean sweeped that year was such an amazing performance
IKR? I’m not even that big of a fan of Lies but I have to admit that that performance just totally killed it. That performance will go in history as one of the best.

Honestly i dont see him winning best Male solo because of Rain. Not to say Rain is a better artist…..but its Rain all the fan girls love him i think he will win based on popularity. I think he might have a chance with dance and MV. Although MV really hasn’t got much to do with him.
Hopefully he wins one of the big awards (daesung) unlikely but i hope he does….
I want YB to win all three. He’s had such incredible year with the success of Solar/Solar International. He deserves to be awarded for all his hard work.

To vote, click on one of the box w/ a specific categories. When you click it, it will open a window with names to choose. You HAVE to vote for an artist for every category. When you’re done, you close the small window. The people that you choose will appear on each box. For instance, box 1 is :Best New Male Artist: Seo In Gook. So, when you see the name of the artists, it confirm that you have voted for him. Then there is a big red button and click on that to send in your vote. If you still don’t understand, please write down your email and I’ll do a picture tutorial to help you. ^^

The one thing that confused me is that IBT is the song that’s being recognized and not INAG which I don’t understand. INAG was more popular and was also the title track of the whole album. IBT was a follow up song. I’m annoyed by it to be honest.

when you log in & click “VOTING START”..then you see the artists that you have previously voted for right? Then u can just automatically click “Vote for 2010 Mnet Asian Music Awards” button. if they lead you to a category and you still want to vote for taeyang, then just still click his name.
